The car industry is transforming.
Volvo Cars now runs Rust (the language!) in production ECUs.
They started in 2019 with the power management unit, and now ship it in EX90 and Polestar 3. Higher code quality, fewer bugs vs C/C++.

@tleekeene @mre Volvo is owned by the Geely group which is a Chinese company (or at least majority owned). That said, I believe a large portion if not a majority of Volvo specific business decisions are made by Volvo and not Geely.
