There is so much ingenious photo knowledge and photo sites scattered all over the Internet that many people don't even know they exist and that could disappear at any time from one day to the next because a brick might fall on the operator's head. It would be a dream come true if there was a central community / page for this kind of thing that was set up as a non-profit organization independent of individuals.

And, no, it's often too specific (and not lexical enough) for Wikipedia.
