Mein Handy hat vor ca. 2 Wochen gemeldet, dass nicht mehr viel Speicherplatz frei ist.

Das Problem vor allem: ein paar hundert heruntergeladene Podcast-Folgen.

Die kann ich aber nicht einfach löschen, die will ich ja anhören!

Das Problem auch: Fotos!

Allerdings waren in meinem Kopf alle meine USB-C Kabel nicht als "damit kann man Daten übertragen" gelabelt.

Wie also die Daten vom Handy runter und in meine Backups bekommen?

Also hab ich die letzten 2 Wochen immer wieder Zeit damit verbracht, stückenweise Fotos in meine Cloud zu schieben, und dann auf meinen Laptop.

Das war langsam.

Das war unzuverlässig.

Und für die Videos hat's gleich gar nicht funktioniert.

(Meine Cloud ist eine Nextcloud-Instanz und kein Google Backup oder so)

Gestern Nacht kommt mir dann der Geistesblitz.

Ich hab ja auch USB-C Kabel, die MIT TELEFONEN mitgekommen sind.

Also ... schiebe ich jetzt gerade auf der Arbeit einen Haufen Files von meinem Smartphone auf einen USB-Stick, damit ich dann vom USB-Stick auf meinen Laptop schieben kann.

Weil ichs nämlich auch lieber gleich mache, als zu hoffen, dass ich nächstes mal, wenn ich am privaten Laptop sitze, dran denke.

@pascoda idk, ich hatte für Fotos/Videos immer das automatische Backup eines komerziellen Cloudanbieters eingeschaltet, beim neuen Handy aber nicht mehr. Sollte da auch mal ein Backup machen. Bevor es überquillt. 😬

Auf die Idee, dass das Kabel schneller/zuverlässiger wäre, wär ich tbh nicht gekommen. Alle bisherigen Versuche, Smartphones an Computer anzuschließen waren eher so "na ja manchmal geht's schon"
