Did you know the Department of Justice has a Civil Rights Division?

Well, it used to, anyway. Don't be surprised if they're one of the "DEIA" organizations rounded up and fired Wednesday.

@mattmay It seems like they are putting them on paid leave rather than firing them, I assume because they can’t defund it without congress? If I’m right about that it’s not hard to imagine a world where they can’t pass a budget so everything gets funded at currewnt levels. So they end up getting paid to do nothing, the ultimate sin of DEI.

We probably won’t get that “lucky,.” though.

@drew Trump’s also said he’s going to try to impound budget items, even though there’s no legal precedent for anyone but Congress to do that. If he gets away with it, then we’re most of the way to unitary executive theory.
