@paninid @valthonis I do not understand how people are still making this argument. Serving empire is a choice. I know for a fact there are other jobs.

I don’t disagree that serving empire is a choice.

In my mind, I’m imagining the economic reality of places like the Rio Grande Valley, which voted MAGA, based on Mexican-American CBP families looking after their self-interests.

This isn’t a hypothetical nor a thought experiment.
