I'm talking to my local here - does anyone know what's up with spore.social? There used to be a newsletter. How can I support? Help? Moderation must be happening because mastodon.social is restricted.

Sorry if I missed stuff, I went away from all socials for awhile but I'm committing to being back in 2025.

We have a small but mighty group of mods and over the last year, the community asked us to prioritize moderation and financial stability so that we can be sure we can pay for our infrastructure costs for at least the next few years. We have been quietly resolving moderation reports and limiting/blocking harmful servers as we try to keep Spore a safe place on the internet. (2/3)

Newsletters have taken a back seat, but we’re hoping we can do more of that in the coming year by partnering with writers/podcasters who are already doing great work in the fediverse.

We could always use support if folks are interested in joining the mod team or writing for the newsletter! (3/3)
