@emenel have you tried bridging yourself perhaps? then you could interact with each other without having to create a new account… i tried it, it works… you just have to follow an account on here and them there…

@emenel that’s pretty much what I did a month or so ago. I think your description of its ties to Silicon Valley, and how it will become beholden to its investors’ interests, is completely correct. But I just wanna make sure I’m staying connected to friends. Can’t force then to come here.

@nnirror @emenel it is pretty strange how 5-10 minutes of signup has become too much effort for a boycott

wish the IG people would at least try xiaohongshu or something, they got memes there. and you can zoom in a photo and it stays zoomed when you lift your fingers, which blew my mind today

@emenel same here. I don’t get why they don’t choose Pixelfed as a replacement for Instagram, it’s much more similar than bluesky. also it’s a part of the fediverse, bonus! all it needs is active users. how do we convince people?
