Hay folks. I have a birthday event coming up later in the year and while the lazy choice is to just use a Facebook event (bleugh) because everybody I would be inviting is already there, are there any good fedi options that anyone could recommend?
At the moment, I'm considering just using email as likely the lowest friction option but just wondering if there are any better options already out there that don't necessarily involve people setting up new accounts to interact?

@pugmiester What functionality do you need?
A form, to collect responses, dietary preferences etc?
A platform for sharing a link with people?
A way of updating people about the event?

@neil Hi Neil, yeah I guess I didn't think this through very well. The perils of posting a quick questions during a coffee break at $dayjob.
I suspect a mix of updating people about the event and checking responses. Looking at my contacts list, I've got email addresses for 90% of the folks on the invite list already so I'm thinking that might just be the easiest option, sent as bcc of course, we don't want any GDPR complaints ;-)
