I put on the German classical music station while I did some admin to calm down, and they switched to talking about using KI (AI) to write classical music and how much climate it is worth burning for that. #AIEthics #fullCourtPress #techDiplomacy

@j2bryson Bearing in mind I didn’t hear this broadcast — but are we really held back as a society by the lack of classical music composers, or the extortionate wages they demand? My musician friends are not exactly rolling in gold!

Procedural generation of music is a technically interesting problem, and I can see potential applications — video game soundtracks that react to on-screen events? — but I can’t imagine listening to the results.

@riotnrrd totally agree. The last thing we need is to burn the planet to make a new fake expression of Brahms or someone.
