I use https://www.datarequests.org/generator to generate requests, btw. I just noticed that they store your requests (on your computer, not theirs), too. that's neat! https://www.datarequests.org/my-requests/

@jollysea I don’t get enough spammy mails. Really only newsletters I did opt-in for and that I sometimes read. And the most interesting ones of those I find in the junk folder. :blobfoxnotamused:

@toni I have the feeling that email adresses of journalists are passed around quite often. And I don't mind getting press releases, even if I get a lot of uninteresting/US-centric press releases. but then I get stuff like "have your cloud in our Luxembourg data center" and that's annoying.

@jollysea Yeah, that makes sense. PR people probably take their email address book from one company to the next and they all get merged. That’s what I would do. 😅

@toni or they share your contacts with everybody because their excel-file is in the google drive with the documents they want to share with you

@jollysea nice story about 5aSec dry cleaner in Luxemburg.

I brought my stuff there, they y asked d for my email so they can inform me when it's done.

Surprisingly, several weeks later, I also got an ad to that address. I informed the regularor of this GDPR breach and they were like "whatever".
