While I like the concept I’m beginning to grow sceptical of the governance structure (or lack there of). For all I can see this is only @dansup?
I understand that it takes someone to start, but if it wants to be a project “by the people for the people” the governance structure is as important as the code.
A Kickstarter would have been a good place to start. Or am I missing something?

@monoxyd @dansup You mean 'kickstarter' like this? -> https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pixelfed/pixelfed-foundation-2024-real-ethical-social-networks
As far as I understand they are working on the project's structure which I also would appreciate to make pixelfeds development a bit less "impulsive" and less dependend on the moods of one maintainer.
Mastodon is also still working on that communization process, aren't they? And their strongest growth has been two or three years ago.
Let's all 🤞that learning from Mastodon's past can fasten the process for pixelfed.
