Trust in scientists and their role in society across 68 countries

Trust in scientists is high, globally. Two stand outs:

• trust in the scientific method is predictor of higher trust -> we should communicate, defend and improve the steps to take to produce reliable results

• high levels of belief that scientists should communicate about science with the general public -> need for transparency, including around open access publishing

Thank you hugely for posting this.

The other day somebody posted about engagement on different platforms, and it seemed very inappropriate to do the - well actually / reply guy thing - but I do read a lot of what is posted, and not infrequently the linked content. I don't normally respond (beyond adding a like) because I have nothing of significance to say, or that others wont say better; that doesn't mean I don't talk to the sprogs and various others about the content. ...
