Too late. #Trump said he was gonna do it & you endorsed him anyway.

[#]Trump's near-total #pardon of #Jan6 rioters was denounced by the #FraternalOrderOfPolice, the largest police union in the US, & the International Association of Chiefs of Police on Tues.

The groups said they're deeply discouraged by #pardons & #commutations made by both Biden & Trump of individuals convicted of killing or assaulting #law enforcement officers [false equivalency: Biden 1; Trump >1,550]

@Nonilex

Who did Biden pardon that attacked and injured or killed police officers? No one.

@lin11c

Biden commuted the sentence of Leonard Peltier, 80 year-old Native American activist who was imprisoned for almost 50 years.

Peltier was convicted of killing 2 FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation & of escaping from federal prison.

The commutation will allow Peltier, who has long maintained his innocence in the killing of two FBI agents, to spend his remaining days in home confinement.

@Nonilex

He was framed though correct? The fall guy and they had no evidence on him. That's what I thought. Also not a pardon but a commutation of his sentence to home confinement because he is ill. That is not the same as pardoning dangerous and violent domestic terrorists and releasing them from prison so they can purchase weapons. The both siding of these "law enforcement" organizations makes me sick. That was my point.

@lin11c there were inconsistencies in the evidence. But Peltier did admit to participating in the shootout in his memoir, though he said he wasn’t the shooter who killed the 2 FBI agents. There were 2 other activists in the vehicle with Peltier when the shootout happened. Norman Charles also fired at the FBI agents. Joe Stuntz was killed in the shootout.

@Nonilex

Everything I have seen has said he was framed because they needed a conviction. In any case, he wasn't pardoned so NOT the same thing as dangerous violent felons having their crimes wiped out and allowing them to purchase guns.
