My weird tech scavenger hunt of the day was trying to figure out the source of a random (probably AI-generated) song in MP4 format I found in the WhatsApp attachments folder on Windows.
The search capabilities of the PC app are very limited, and looking through the storage on my phone, I can't find the video at all. The file is just called VID-20240809-WA0001. I found it accidentally when using WinDirStat to clean up my computer.
The WhatsApp attachments are categorized by week, starting at 0, and this is in 2024-31, so the date of the file makes sense. But my phone doesn't seem to have the video at all.
Why do I want to find this? I have no idea. I already have it. I just don't like not knowing where things are coming from. I'm in some groups that are basically permanently archived, and people share random things in them all the time, so even if I didn't track down the song I did start cleaning up a ton of attachment clutter.
