Many microorganisms have "sex" when they or their environment are under stress. It is believed that this is an evolutionary adaptation which increases their chances of survival should members of their species be under threat of depopulation.
Indeed, humans have been observed to behave similarly during dangerous or uncertain times. I mention this only as a reminder to have fun, but please be respectful and safe 😅
