Since the last windows 11 update I have shutdown and hibernate completely broken. Shutdown/hibernate always reboots the computer, I can’t shutdown unless I hard press the physical power button. It’s a mess, don’t know what to do with this.

@djlink You could try disabling fast startup (on by default) and see if that helps?

This is a "feature" that makes a normal shutdown more like a hibernate, where windows will save its running state before shutting down and reload that state when it starts up again. I usually disable it if I'm running windows because it often prevents the magic trick of "turn it off then back on again" from working.

I have no idea if your issue would be caused by this feature, but it might be, and it's pretty easy to toggle on and off.

@xtoffsgamestuff not really, however, today, for the first time in a week I was able to shutdown normally, hibernate still broken. I might have to do a full system clean. but the thought of reinstalling all the toolchains and SDK uff

@djlink I feel you. full clean install is insane with dev tools in place. hope you (and we all) get lucky and MS fixes it sonehow 🤞🏼
