Toot

@boscoandpeck welcome to the club.

the best solution i've come with is throwing sing-able melodies on the piece. whether with vocals or instrument. go nuts, collect a lot of melodies that you feel comfortable singing.

concurrently, start reading and writing and collecting key words or phrases that seem they belong. see which ones you can get to work with the melodic phrases you've already put down.

eventually you kind of find the way. especially when the melody is really sing-able, you can put all sorts of words to it (think of kids putting parody lyrics to a popular song/tune).

Descendants

@benda that's kind of what I do. I've always recorded my "mumble track" where I just sing the melody with what ever words or syllables feel right. Then I go back and try an decipher what I was saying. That's always a good start. But its just a good starting place. Getting over the finish line is the hard part
