@jeffjarvis They just witnessed four years of the country stalling to convict an insurrectionist who was allowed to retake the presidency instead. You're talking about people who have watched their leaders lie, cheat, and steal their way to victory while shamelessly flaunting that the law doesn't apply to them.
People look to things like hostility when civility has failed them.
