It's snowing here in Houston!

Okay, okay, okay.

I'm sorry for trying to compare my cold to that of @Waitnwallflower and $@tayfonay 's cold up north.

Can someone tell me where the Snow Off" button is? I mean it's pretty and all but it's too damn cold for this wren birdie.

I was surprised my #pibble mix Sylvie liked the snow as much as she did. She started shivering a little bit but didn't want to come in.

Also... I've been participating in the TestFlight of #Loops. There are still a lot of things to work out with it and before Trump flip flopped on his position about banning tiktok, it seemed it might have had a chance to grow some.

Anyway, here are my puppies playing in the snow we had here in #Houston using the Loops Video app.

What the heck? Another person from Houston on Mastodon? That's two just today. I mean that's as rare as the snow we're having.

So that's another thing my northern friends @Waitnwallflower @tayfonay would laugh at about us down here. One of the largest freeways in the world is shut down because of dusting of snow.

Of course what they don't know is we're not exactly ready for this and the freeway will turn into an ice rink but I imagine it must be puzzling to them.

As a native Houstonian, I can say that nobody should go anywhere today unless it's an actual, real emergency. There will be ice on all of the bridges, making travel extremely dangerous. The city and county do not have the resources to clear snow and ice.

I'm in Iowa today, where it is below 0⁰F. I was driving on snow just a couple of days ago. I'm literally a professional driver, and I'm used to such things. But even I wouldn't drive anywhere in Houston today if I could avoid it.

@WrenArcher @Waitnwallflower @tayfonay My daughter sent us pictures from New Orleans. Snowing there also. 6” total predicted. Wild weather. Here in Wisconsin, the temperature is still falling. -11 deg F and windchill -30 deg F. That’s frostbite in 10 minutes for any exposed skin.
