huh, my new mouse doesn't work on my (powered) USB hub. directly on the laptop it does.

nothing special on the hub, either—keyboard, makeup LED, handful of cables to charge cellphones. maybe my hub is worse than I though, or like the old mouse, not made to last.

this means I won't have the mouse available when I have a meeting—I need the direct USB ports for the mic and camera.

new mouse is satisfyingly watermelon pink but unlike the old one it doesn't have softly pulsating rainbow LEDs and I already miss the softly pulsating rainbows

the LEDs still work. Maybe I should hang up the old mouse on the wall as a sort of expensive fairy lamp
