The New River is still in use today, transferring around 220 million litres of water per day β€” 8% of London's total use. I went for a walk along a section of it. This is an Eurasian Coot.

@ChaHarper I accidentally walked along a section of it up by Enfield some years ago. Didn't know what it was and asked someone who happened to know quite a lot about it. Worthwhile for anyone if they're nearby.
