Considering getting myself a temporary personal device while my usual laptop is still out for repair.

Initial thought was an iPad. I would be able to hack by SSHing into my server or hooking it up to one of the RPis I have lying around here.

Or maybe a budget ThinkPad or other Linux-compatible laptop. Would be nice to still have a box that could also run old Windows-only games for nostalgia reasons.

In either case, if I liked it, I could keep it after these one/two weeks and would have a new device to play with; if not I’d just return it when my main laptop gets back from repair.
