What is the benefit of xterm-ghostty terminfo value? I mean except, that I either have to copy it to a ton of servers or update my ssh config? #ghostty

@oliverandrich My understanding, is that it allows it to report all the features it supports. It's trying to do things technically correct at the cost of everyone having to configure things in the short term (as opposed to just reporting xterm and letting things mostly work)
That said, it looks like they did get their changes pushed upstream so at some undetermined date (based on distros) it won't be required.

@oliverandrich No idea how long it will take for most distros to update ncurses
Ghostty's terminfo entry has been merged into ncurses. As distros update their ncurses packages, Ghostty's terminfo entry will be available by default system-wide. This will take time to propagate.

@kfdm I have 14 years till my retirement. I am sure, I will still see servers without it. ;)
