Once more:

Trump and other fascists aren't "insane", aren't "crazy".

Mental illness is a criminal defense BECAUSE it's something you cannot help.

Please stop using language that continues to slag off people who genuinely do have mental illnesses. Slagging off the mentally ill is doing fascists' and eugenicists' work for them.

Fascists want to do what they're doing. It's of their own volition. Please use your language accordingly. #USpol #Language #Ableism

So not only is this ableist language (so is the term "sanewashing"), but it's letting these fuckers slide for what they're really doing:

Willingly, enthusiastically being violent shitheels who are destroying democracy to install an oligarchy that holds a would-be dictator as their liege lord.

@meganL whoa i totally just learned about "sanewashing" recently. Didn't realize it was ableist. I didn't really connect the dots until now.

@sipi_xo I think it's fine to just say "normalizing" whatever fascist shit they're up to.

"Carrying water" for them.
