🏒🥅 🇨🇦 “Connor McDavid gets three games and the NHL feels safer already.”
It was Hockey Day in Canada. Ironically, the last seconds of the last Hockey Night in Canada game showed us what’s wrong with hockey as a pro sport. Clutch-&-grab by the less-skilled still throttles the game’s best. Officiating by “game management” rather than by the rules doesn’t work. Violence still mars this beautiful sport.

@hnom And no Kevin Bieksa, this isn’t “what you get when you stop fighting” in the NHL. Because fighting in the NHL hasn’t stopped. I see a fight in a lot of games.
This is what we get when a fast, dynamic, and aggressive sport isn’t properly officiated.
Players do fight. That isn’t the issue. The issue is “game management” rather than rules-based officiating.
