one thing to watch out for as shit gets more dangerous for trans people in America, and as we start to rely more on communities and mutual aid networks for support, is community gatekeepers - people who exclude others on the basis of personal grievance, stepping on eggshells, a misstep that could have been resolved quietly, and so forth.
toxic people in our communities have a tendency to pop up and create their own little exclusive fiefdoms in times of crisis. keep an eye on them and look at the language they use, who they exclude, and how they handle conflict. oftentimes they'll be extremely skilled at using the "correct" social-justice or therapy-speak language to justify their toxicity, and it's important that we stay vigilant and see through that.
none of us is disposable. all of us deserve aid and community.
