Not to defend the streaming economy, but when I wanted to do a solo album in 1995, after trying to find a label, I produced it myself.

Recordings, mix engineer, cover designer cost $$$ and we found a distributor.

Today, you can do it all for a small investment and get exposure to millions.

Once you have the hardware you don't even have to leave your house! And the hardware is widely available and inexpensive, compared to a 24-track tape machine and the board to run it.

I don't look back at the old days as being better.
