@harrietteann I had a meeting with a product manager yesterday, not for a job, but for feedback. One of the most draining video call, and I've been given a few challenges to overcome, but I doubt if I can do them.

@harrietteann this wasn't an interview actually - more like a virtual feedback session from someone experienced in IT.
I was told that I was a social hermit and that my stiffness and speaking skills would be a turn off for most managers, no matter how good I was with skills. My excercise were to reconnect with "friends" and come and rehearse a self-introduction script daily.
About the on-site payment thingy, that doesn't happen in India. On the contrary, I've heard of candidates paying.

@RecurringBloatware i see. it does seem like a lot of emphasis is placed on these things these days. it is soooo draining and feels superficial and dehumanizing, honestly. but i hope you find a role that truly values your skills and allows you to shine. wishing you all the best!
