don’t get me wrong, we absolutely should be weaning ourselves off corporations, and learning to do more stuff ourselves. But we shouldn’t romanticise it. It’s a lot of work, and realistically, it’s work that is mostly going to be done by women if we see any significant cultural shift away from corporations

there’s a reason we got dependant in the first place. the old ways are hard and obnoxious and frustrating compared to whining that the xbox version of a game looks slightly worse than the playstation versions

and let’s not fool ourselves into thinking we do not rely absolutely on a delicate web of international trade routes and other people’s specialised labour. You cannot do self reliance. not really
