I've decided, after reading President Clinton's book, CITIZEN, that for the duration of Trump's presidency, I'm going to refrain from commenting about current events, GOP or US politics or DJT on Mastodon. Bill Clinton commented that when you see a freight train coming at you, sometimes you just have to get off the track and wait. Since the only things I can do about this situation are pray, vote and hope Democrats can return us to a brighter day, at some future point, all the comments made on Mastodon are not going to change either Trump or the GOP cult's grip on the US, so my time is better spent reading and learning and continuing to grow spiritually, and as a human being. That is exactly what I intend to do. Wasting words on DJT and the GOP is a profound waste, and I think may even put my mental health and well being at risk. What I am going to do is favorite posts I agree with, and express my opinions to like-minded individuals I feel personally close to, but not on social media. (1/2)

Since I came to know the Lord in 1976, I've always believed prayer is powerful. This principle has proven true, so often, throughout the forty-eight years following, so I'm going to rely on the promises of God, stay informed, vote, donate time and money to causes and organizations that promote human rights and nondiscrimination, and wait on the Lord, but not clutter my mind with the drama of DJT, the GOP, or the hate and lines they spew forth, often on a daily basis. I believe their intent is to keep me angry, annoyed, confused, fearful, feeling powerless and hopeless. I refuse to buy into any of those negative concepts. To do so is to allow DJT and his minions control over me. Hate and lies are not going to control me. I want the love and light of God to control me and be upper most in my life, not the darkness the GOP and their hateful ideas offer. That's a one-way road, straight to Hell, in my considered view. I can say I'm a Christian until I run out of voice or words, but unless I distance myself from those who profess hate and lies, i will never be free from either. (2/2)
