I'm glad my beloved has agreed to join me in this (initially) one-week fast from all Meta sites; it means that it maybe wasn't too dickish of me to set up blocking rules in our home's firewall for all their servers, as a helpful memory aid.

This has already helped me realize how subconsciously and reflexively I just bang on that Instagram app icon — it's not until I see the app come up empty that I snap out of the trance and thank our friend the firewall for the reminder.
