Peace is a good default. It's a good preference. Reluctance to fight without good cause is admirable.
But the compass that always points toward peace will one day point toward injustice. There comes a point where you have to stand up to bad actors or become their unwilling asset.
Err on the side of justice higher than laws that are easily corrupted to an appeal to force.
What is most important isn't that those who do wrong are punished, but that those who have done no wrong are NOT punished.
