@MostlyHarmless biggest +++ from me. I recognised right at the start of TikTok’s journey that it was controlled by the CCP (basically) and I didn’t want any unnecessary data being harvested by them. I’m based in China anyway and ALL my data is seen by someone, somewhere. If I could minimise this, then it would at least give me the illusion of control.

Whatever. Tiktok was amazing and great -- until it got shitty with ads and "influencers". When it turned garbagey I stopped using it. There were (maybe still are) great people pn there -- and it def leaned left, which is probably a large reason for b&.

@MostlyHarmless Never had the app. Have accidentally landed on the website a few times, but never stay long. The only place I see TikTok videos is if they're mirrored to YouTube as shorts, or compiled into longer videos. Or being reacted to on YouTube.
Some creators I follow on YouTube started on TikTok, but eventually grew up and migrated to YouTube, where people have attention spans longer than 20 seconds.
YouTube seems to be pushing "Shorts" hard at the moment. Wonder why... 😏
