dummy question. i can see profile pictures for most accounts from pixelfed.social, but some accounts are shown with a placeholder image (and i can see this account image on pixelfed server itself)

why is that? 🤔

i think i do not understand much about how this kind of stuff gets propagated through Fedi..

@ferrata I think right now pixelfed.social is having growing pains and that may be a reason. I tried posting something there earlier and it took at least 3 tries before it worked.

@ferrata Also not sure how you are accessing it but the android app is having major issues for me at the moment while the web is a bit faster.

@edox i don't have an account myself, but was helping to set up the account. and their account looks good on the pixelfed server, but is shown as generic when i open their account in tusky or in elk..

@edox i think the reason might be in how my fedi instance (hachyderm) is processing the accounts from pixelfed. i might be wrong there.
