@sungo how well is it integrated on the Jellyfin side? I've been thinking about doing something similar, but it would be nice to be able to fetch things like thumbnails/descriptions and arrange by channel.

I've kinda been thinking about how I might do the same for some of the streaming services I use, too, like dropout and nebula.

@rgegriff with the right params, yt-dlp generates videos, from youtube, that work pretty well in jellyfin. Thumbnail, subtitles, descriptions, etc. I keep a directory per channel and use yt-dlp's archive mode to control what comes down. clean up scripts to remove old content since I'm not interested in building a forever archive (but I could, obviously).

jellyfin's UI isn't perfect for this. Like I can't easily bookmark a page that's "everything in this library that's unwatched, sorted by date added descending". I can click through to that but it's not something I can set as a page or bookmark. which is annoying. can't do an rss feed or anything like that.

I was using tubearchivist for a while but it pisssed me off a few too many times in ways that I'm sure are sungo specific. But it might work for you.

I've been half-tempted to start digging into jellyfin to see what can be done in terms of plugins/customizations and how that can interact with the various client apps; so this might be something I try and run with.

@rgegriff get me an rss feed of a search and/or a pinned tab sort of thing of a search and I'll love you forever :) I really want a feed of "unwatched in this library by date added descending". just "unwatched" would be fine because I can feed it into miniflux and it'll dtrt. couldn't see how to do it though, as a regular type user person
