What are the pros of having a Pixelfed account when you already have a Mastodon account? Stories? The reason I don't have Pixelfed is that I have Mastodon. But I'm intrigued.

I like to keep them separated so that, for example, I can share a link to a Pixelfed album without sharing my Mastodon account.

Yes but this is still your mastodon account, isn't it? If I post some cool pics on my holidays on Pixelfed I like the possibility to share them without including my mastodon-based rants and shenanigans :)
