I notice more and more reporters and commentators pronouncing the indefinite article to rhyme with bay rather than bat, a horrid affectation that is soiling the language #pronunciation #a #yuck

@PatrickOBeirne Surely the emphasis would be "This is a CAT". But it's not even emphasis. The lad who does University Challenge does it all the time, for instance, but it's becoming more and more common!
