Just in case this needs to be said:
I have zero intention of closing down or diminishing our services on toot.wales in any way whatsoever with regards to the UK Online Safety Act.
I am pursuing communications with Ofcom, and will work with both my Tŵt and my IFTAS hats on to ensure decentralised service providers can continue to operate while Ofcom figures out how it plans to regulate Fediverse services. Other advocacy groups are doing the same. If you can, sit tight.

@jaz More power to your elbow, but a note of caution: the problem with "sit tight", AIUI, is that the date at which the regulations are likely to come into force is soon enough that preparatory compliance work is needed right now (yes, in advance of the full regulations being published) to have any chance of complying with them.

@only_ohm Ofcom has a "small services" taskforce starting to figure out what they want to say and do. OSA has more teeth than the DSA for sure, but I'm ready to work with Ofcom to walk them through how it all works, how their regulations impact safe spaces, and what activities are underway in the fediverse to meet their trust and safety concerns.
Not the first regulation I've had to deal with, won't be the last.
