I settled on django-bird because I like the explicitly declared and accessed props, and Josh’s plans for the future: inline and scoped CSS/JavaScript. Check out the roadmap for more goodies: https://django-bird.readthedocs.io/en/latest/project/roadmap.html.

I’ve been slowly chipping away at assets this past week. In the most recent releases, co-located asset files should work now with the asset tags and a temporary view to serve them. Next up a custom staticfiles finder so the view isn’t needed.
Once I get the staticfiles finder and the co-located files working properly, I think it should be an easy lift to try and get inline and scoping working (hopefully 😅).
