@HisNameIsOx I believe that trying to change things from the inside is a bad tactic, yet I do enjoy surfacing that post and other like so there.

Sadly this is the place that his helping me get work for the last 15 years, and I'm not sure there is any alternative.

The polite mob is such a good way to put it tho.

@mxfraud yeah, no current alternative, but it's a hellhole of mediocrity, politeness, and an almost fascist peer-pressure/algorithm threat to not have any opinion... And people there are like, feeding the collective illusion that the work market is this amazing thing and that everyone wakes up everyday eager to go to work. There's very little chance of changing it, 100%.

I think what initially broke me was a post from June 2020, when a significant amount of people lost jobs and security because

@HisNameIsOx I guess I was way too busy during lockdown to even go on Linkedin, because I had a whoel company to move to a remote working arrangement while we were quite any flexibility before that.

But yeah the atmosphere is pretty rancid, what really did it for me what the cheering for crypto when NFTs became popular. I removed a lot of connection then.

The veneer of politeness on top of ultra-capitalism optimism is quite ingrained and indeed, there is no chance for any of us to change that I'd think.

The "constant grind" mindset and the grift mindset is a venn diagram with linkedin in the middle for sure
