the fun thing about hockey is noticing that RDS's social media manager takes the effort to put the Czech accent thing on the S on Jakub Dobeš's name, just like the commentators take the effort to ask players how to pronounce their name, then you have the NHL 2 posts later on my feed who can't bother doing that at all

So, I wonder, you're watching sport on TV - or anything where foreign names comes up often, really - how do the commentators fare on foreign names? Do they pronounce them correctly, or they just care about being understood? From what I see that seems to be chiefly a French Canadian thing, feel free to comment about your experiences
