I'm a bit disappointed that people now state they are "happy" (to) not (being able) to attend #FOSDEM. Despite one controversial figure, FOSDEM also consists of many people being pretty passionate about open source and its community. Don't let these people down, they spent many hours preparing talks, rooms and stands.
Rather than boycotting the conference, which does not help at all, it would be better to let the organizers hear your voice. For example via: https://fosdem.org/2025/contact/

... or take part in the currently forming means of on site protest. If you just quit quietly, no one will get notice of what you think.

@avocadoom exactly this. Show up and cause a ruckus, don't quietly avoid.

@avocadoom FOSDEM had a soft spot for big tech for years now (Google, Facebook,..). Concerns were raised, now the keynote is handed over.
I'm happy to see people having values and acting on them: be it a sit in, a boycott or sending complaints via a contact form.
I'd only be dissapointed with acceptance.
Because FOSDEM, is drunk. It should go home, sleep and reconsider the choices it made.
