@dushman @hor32 @sapphire I had an iphone for like a year, if I used a phone like a normal person I would use it with no question. That said I don't use a phone like a normal person, so Graphene is a good compromise.

@arcana @dushman @hor32 @sapphire I don't need or want my phone as a primary device, its just a "I'm not at a computer" stand-in. Having an app for everything isn't appealing or desirable. Its a lot easier to control/prevent ads/tracking in a desktop web browser, and I like having multiple displays. Plus I have a crippled thumb and touchscreen typing is bothersome as a result.
When I had an iPhone I got tired of fighting against the operating system to run an app persistently in the background, there's no way to say "I don't care about battery life, let this thing keep running forever". There's no replacement for termux either. Past that, I'm a freetard and I couldn't get past the constant voice in my head nagging that "that app isn't free software"
I hate Google, and I do everything to keep their software off of my phone. I'm not a fan of Apple but when you compare the two, there's no question which I would choose.
There's a lot of base level things on iOS that I loved, like the alarm setup and emergency functionality like texting via satellite (since there's little/no cell signal here), and the wifi calling is far more reliable (but not reliable enough for me). Plus Apple always has better cameras IMO. I also like how iOS more readily supports CalDAV/CardDAV service as opposed to Android, where you need external apps for that.
You didn't ask for all of this shit but I'm waiting on people at work to review code so there it is,
