Announcer has made one of the classic blunders in olympicsry: failing to check where the athletes are supposed to marshall for the opening ceremony before announcing the wrong location several times. Too late now, they are going with it.

Another announcer has taken the mic to announce that actually the athletes do need to marshall at the intended location, so please go there now.
First announcer has now returned to say except for the ones who already went to the wrong place, they can stay there.
Awaiting further developments.

First announcer has returned to say sorry, the athletes do all need to go to the place the second announcer said.
In fairness, the second announcer's place is behind a small hill, so it will make for a more dramatic entrance. That does seem more olympical.

Oh no, first announcer has decided to introduce all the teams with train-of-thought commentary about the places they come from. He has clearly not prepared and has already made at least one factual error about geography.
I think I would enjoy sports more if the commentators didn't feel obliged to fill every second with pointless wittering.

Going home now, as our first event isn't until this evening. You have to come to the opening ceremony though, because it is excellent entertainment.
