@deafferret what’s insane to me is that it went from catastrophic to (visibly) nothing from south of the fire once we got to about 8% containment. Like why is just a little containment so effective?

@frew I haven't been following it much, but I thought 98% of the ball game was whether or not the Santa Ana winds are blowing? If they are, we're screwed?

It's mostly the weather, and how much fuel exists in the area, whether or not it's spreading, even at maximum human effort?
