The @europython call for proposals opened and I'm so tempted to submit talks.

I'm just not sure how confident I am that I'll find a job and one that allows me to go between now and the conference.

If you're doing #Python stuff worth sharing, I recommend submitting a talk!

Just don't live in the EU.

In same boat; no funding to travel out to events.

Getting a job admits failure to keep maintainers focused on the packages we need maintained

Hearing you complain about needing a job is yet another confirmation our tech stack is vulnerable to loss of their maintainers

@msftcangoblowme I'm not an open source maintainer, I'm just unemployed. So in my case it's not related to funding but I do agree it's an issue that exists elsewhere in the industry.
