Windows Defender has gone rogue and started blocking harmless shit like KeyOp and WinSCP that I've been using for literal months. I've allowed them back, but now they're refusing to start. I've always hated modern antivirus with a fiery fucking passion, but now that fire is burning hotter than ever. Reminds me of that time when AVG went ballistic and corrupted half my software installers; I had to redownload the fuckers.

@TwoThousandStu LOL wow. I don't use modern antivirus for that reason.

@BrailleScreen It's a royal pain in the hole to turn off in Win11 too. And when I say turn off, I mean completely turn off.

@BrailleScreen @TwoThousandStu What antivirus do you use then?

@Rich @TwoThousandStu Honestly I don't use one. I just stay in touch with security myself and keep up with security patches and trust myself not to run anything too bad. This may be bad practice, but it's seemingly working out for me so far.

@BrailleScreen @TwoThousandStu True. As long as you're not visiting shady websites to download stuff there's no reason you wouldn't be fine.
