@karolherbst @pthariensflame This post twists "X is more likely to do Y" into "We endorse X in everything they do", which seems like a borderline bad-faith argument.

Why didn't they quote the original post (from the CEO's private account) that specifically endorses the nomination of the Assistant Attorney General in the context of antitrust enforcement?

@neobrain like platform doing fact-checking or well.. "censoring" hate speech and things like that.

Calling it "big tech abuse" sounds way better than calling it "we don't like tech platforms to remove hate speech".

Are you by any chance misreading "big tech abuse" as "abuse [done by the government] against big tech" rather than "abuse done by big tech [against the people]"?

Anyway, it's in the nature of dog-whistles to either be able to say "nah, they didn't mean it like that" or "I don't see the problem".

@karolherbst That post only mentions antitrust actions (like breaking up Google or opening up Apple's app store) that are ongoing, not moderation policies. AFAIK there have not yet been any announcements from current/coming government officials on changing moderation requirements of platforms.

Dog whistles tend to come in patterns, and I haven't seen any other posts by the Proton CEO that would fit into the scheme you're suggesting. If anything he's been very outspoken against Big Tech.
