Honestly, if it's just released more frequently, I think I would be very interested in the project. I think I'll probably give it a serious shot once its wheel and implementation is fully complete.
Also, while it has been a bit stagnant, I think the apt package manager is actually pretty decent. Though, admittedly, I use it more often through nala than it directly. So trying to stick to it and improve surrounding tooling is definitely a good idea.
