So #TimBurton had the resources to ripoff Harry Potter for his #Wednesday miniseries but he couldn't be bothered to ask someone how to pronounce some latin phrases thus making the otherwise quite passable work of #ChristinaRicci a dog's dinner and himself a botcher in the last episode

@Codeschubse Wir wissen ja gar nicht, wie Latein genau gesprochen wurde. Die Deutschen haben da was festgelegt und so wird es im Lateinunterricht in Deutschland unterrichtet. Andere Länder anders. Alle mit ziemlicher Sicherheit falsch.

@GreenSkyOverMe Das ist nicht ganz richtig. Wir wissen nur bei manchen Zeitabschnitten nicht genau, wie es gesprochen wurde. Vulgärlatein sowie Spät- und Mittellatein wurden mit an Sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit wie das heutige Italienisch gesprochen. Also C vor a, o und u wie das deutsche K aber vor e und i als TSCH. Betonung ebenfalls wie im heutigen Italienisch im Normalfall auf der vorletzten Silbe.

Dass die Nazis es ende des 19 Jh. "eingedeutscht" haben, stimmt.
